The Cell Phone vs. The Bible

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our mobile, cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets, flipped through it several times a day, turned back to go get it if we forgot it, and used it to receive messages via text?  What if we couldn’t live without it, gave it to our kids as a gift, or used it when we traveled in case of emergency?

Mediating on God’s Word, receiving, and praying Scripture, Lectio Divina, can be the most profitable exercise for real success (Josh. 1:8; Ps. 119). Claiming biblical promises, pouring out or sharing your heart, “chatting” or using “talk-time” with God as a friend, believe me, is always strengthening and uplifting.

Unlike our cell phone, we don’t have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because of an unpaid bill.  Jesus already paid the bill in full. And just think–no dropped calls! God hears them all!

Have you recently called and checked out God’s phone number? Here it is; yes, you can give it out to anyone who needs it: JER. 33:3 or PS. 50:15. Imagine this, when you pray using the Bible as a direct helpline, you will not get a busy tone or missed call signal, and you never hear an automated answering machine!

Let us take and make time (because we won’t find it) to listen to and talk to God through His word. Try it–it’s user-friendly and will change both everything and you!
